Happy May church family!
I know it’s the 2nd, but I’m always reminded of the old May Day celebrations when May 1st comes around – the May Pole, the flowers – the celebration of life and spring. And we see this happening all over when we look outside – the grass greening up, the first spring flowers blooming, the fields freshly turned over in preparation for spring planting. We see the deer herded up and enjoying the fresh green shoots – and our tulips. (Note: next year do not plant tulips without deer fence)
This is also a time of year that shouts of the possibilities of new life with Jesus. We’ve celebrated the Resurrection, commemorating the crucifixion, and we’re now in the glorious “after”. After our sin debt was paid, after the power of the grave was defeated, after we accept this gift from our Father and the Spirit which now dwells in us… now it’s like the Spring has come. And the wilderness areas of our lives gradually turn from wastelands to green pastures as God works.
So as you see the crocus and the daffodil, thank God for what He’s blossomed in your own life. And if you don’t know Him – let the master Gardener into your life. He’s waiting and willing to make new life happen with you too!
-- In faith, Pastor Eric
“The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God.” Isaiah 35:1-2 NIV
