Happy Friday church family!

This has been a week for me to try to catch my breath and refocus on what lies ahead for our Free Church. I can’t believe this is the last weekend in July – we’re steamrolling right into August! This week I have also tried to take care of a few things that had slipped by the wayside over the last few weeks – getting the truck in for some maintenance included. As it seems to happen, expected maintenance was followed by unexpected repairs. I think my truck likes being in the shop so it wanted to go back! Well, that caused some rearranging in our family’s schedule – nothing major at all – but I did get to thinking how fortunate we are to have a God we can count on – who will never fail us – and who we can turn to on the unexpected bumps in the road of life.

This evening’s storm reminded me of the lesson we can learn from trees – how they can withstand storms in a grove or forest where many trees bear the brunt of the wind together, but a single tree in the open will fall to the storm because it bears it alone. I pray we are a church family that weathers storms together. With trust in God and in our congregation, we can withstand much!

-- In faith, Pastor Eric

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:5-8 ESV
