Happy Saturday church family!

Sometimes, I think what is needed most is time in a deer stand. A pause from the busyness and a period of peaceful tranquility. A good time for prayer and meditation. It was enjoyable today to watch the does and fawns frolic and take their own rest bedding down 50 yards from my stand. I love to see the chickadees flit about making their happy little chirps. The geese calling far overhead, the knocking of the woodpeckers, and the gliding swoop of an eagle at the treetops remind me how blessed we are. And it reminds me how a sabbath rest is a gift – not an obligation to be held. Jesus told the Pharisees, “the Sabbath is for man, not man for the Sabbath!” It is a good thing, a necessary thing, to pause and rest in the Lord. And a deer stand is a good location for it too! I highly recommend bringing your Bible along with you next time – spend some time in the Word with the Lord. And thank Him for all that He’s done!

-- In faith, Pastor Eric

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV
